 It
gives me very great pleasure to launch the new Crissy
Wild transgender reference library for 2007. Crissywild.com
will be familiar to most of you but for those that
are here for the first time, a special welcome. Websites
come and go, however Crissy Wild's has been around
now for some eight years providing in depth information,
services, news, and resources for the transgendered
communities of the World. What I have tried to do
is to blend all this information with an interesting
and overall multimedia experience and my thanks to
everyone on the Crissy Wild Productions and media
team that contributed ideas.
Starting as a British site back in 1997, Crissy Wild's
has grown in leaps and bounds in popularity and World
readership. Featured
by Channel 4 television and other media, the site
now draws over 1 million visitors a year making it
by far the busiest and best known of all the transgender resource
journals. So who is Crissy
Wild ?
More
Links .. More Resources .. More Fun
Incorporated
into this site are new ideas and as always I have
acted on many views expressed from previous reader
polls. Simplicity is the key to finding what you want
and also to explore some totally new areas such as
the Media centre where we shall be having movies,
music and fun.
What's
new at crissywild.com ?
 The
site layout has again been improved. One site Main
Index and Crissy's Television
Channel still in it's pilot stage and featuring original
live shows and documentaries. What is not new are
the huge range of links to almost every transgender
related site of significance on the net. These resources
have been steadily updated and expanded. A fully incorporated
pharmacy which is administered and backed by the Meds
Direct team. Many of you use this service as a fast,
easy and confidential way to access hormones at sensible
prices. All the help, advice and counselling
facilities are still here. A much improved
dating service
with more options has been added and the adult
links ? - well they are still listed in a new much
more discreet section. However you will not find any
pornography hosted on crissywild.com.
We shall also be having guest contributors and editors
so any of you who would like to publish
an article here please contact
us. A new news, views and comment page is
sure to attract much readership. Whilst we still have
a shopping mall, we have incorporated new rules for
suppliers wishing to market their products and the
vetting is tighter. There are new chat
rooms, message
boards, website
directories and other services.
Why
all these changes ?
Evolution I guess! Social integration has probably
driven the style and aims of this site. From the British
perspective, a judgment effected by the European Court
of Human Rights in July 2002 (Goodwin-v-HMG)
has at last after 33 years persuaded the British Government
to change UK law and this was finally completed in
August 2004. Congratulations too for Dr Stephen Whittle
and Christine Burns the campaigners at Press for Change
who have been awarded an OBE and MBE respectively.
Time of course will alter the way in which transsexuals
are viewed by society... perhaps starting with a new
terminology to replace the word transsexual ! Man
or Woman would be nice.
Most of us just want to get on with life quietly and
enjoy who we are now and not to dwell on who we were
and how we got here. No longer shall we stand for
being targets of the thrills media, the less intelligent
amongst us, the transphobics and those that have
major chips on their own shoulders. What we shall
do I very much hope at crissywild.com is to continue
in making a contribution to both understanding and
education.

this site, our raison d'etre, et al... So
