are an open support group for all members of the transgendered
community. While we do have a code of conduct for our meetings,
we do not discriminate based on sex, gender identity, race,
religion or sexual identity. Our objective is to help others
understand and express their gender identities, and to advance
the rights of transgendered people. The GGA is a chapter of
The Renaissance Transgender Association, Inc., a national
organization of open transgender groups, with headquarters
in Wayne, PA. The focus of Renaissance is to serve the educational
and supportive needs of the transgendered community and educate

MASSACHUSETTS
It's
Time, Massachusetts |
It's
Time, Massachusetts! (ITMA) is a public advocacy organization.
We seek to obtain legal protections for people with gender-variant
expression in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Gender-variant
expression is any personal presentation that does not conform
socially prescribed gender roles or modes of expression. Gender-variant
people are at increased risk of violent attacks, including
homicide, often are discriminated against in housing or employment,
and often are targets of harassment and ridicule. Gender-variant
people can be found in all walks of life. Our goal is to make
this Commonwealth a safe place where these individuals can
enjoy the liberties that most citizens take for granted, including
(but not limited to)
- access to gainful, safe, and legal employment
- access to public spaces without fear of harassment of violence
- access to public rest rooms and fitting rooms without legal
complications

Sunshine
Club |
The
Sunshine Club was founded in 1992 as a social, support, and
educational group for members of the transgendered community,
significant others, and allies. According to the Sunshine Club's
Statement of Purpose, a transgendered individual, "is male
or female, who identifies himself/herself to some degree as
a member of the opposite gender." The transgendered (TG)
community is incredibly diverse. It includes those who crossdress
occasionally in private, persons who go out dressed as the other
gender in public, as well as transsexuals who live full time
as a member of the other gender. While male to female transgendered
people are most common within the community, female to male
transgenders make up a significant part of the TG population.

Sunshine Club of Western Mass |
The
Sunshine Club is a non-sexual support organization that was
founded in the Connecticut River Valley of Western Massachusett
in 1991 to support, and provide knowledgeable education and
information about, the transgendered community. If you consider
yourself a crossdresser, transvestite, transsexual, or other
type of gender bender, we welcome you to our website. We welcome
all individuals who consider themselves transgender, individuals
and groups of people that are involved with or are interested
in the transgendered person and the Transgendered Community.
We hope that our website will serve as a resource for those
individuals who are interested in gaining a better understanding
of us by becoming educated about the Transgendered Community
and for helping those individuals who are questioning about
their own gender identities. The Sunshine Club membership
is dedicated to helping individuals overcome the isolation,
guilt, shame and prejudice as a result of being transgendered,
to focus on the many positive aspects of being a transgendered
person, to be comfortable with our unique identities and for
providing a socializing outlet for the transgendered person
and the Transgendered Community. Our website only contains
important information and links to other resources relevant
to individuals in a Transgendered lifestyle.

Transgender
Support in Western Montana |
Missoula
has an active and supportive community for persons who identify
as a gender other than that assigned to them from their sex
at birth. Many persons fit this broad category which ranges
from those who are transexual to those who like to crossdress
at home or out in the world. Transgender after all means to
"trans" or go across the gender lines which society
has defined.

The
River City Gender Alliance was founded in 1986 and currently
has approximately 75 members. The monthly meetings attract
between 25 and 30 members. Our members span all age ranges
and cover all of the aspects of the gender spectrum. We provide
peer support, friendship and understanding for crossdressers,
transgenderists, and transsexuals. Our members include both
male to female and female to male transgendered persons. Members
come from all across Nebraska, Western Iowa, South Dakota
and Northern Kansas, as well as the Omaha/Lincoln/Council
Bluffs areas. A monthly newsletter, the Transformer, keeps
our long distance members informed of the groups activities.
